Workplace Training
Attention of Students Attending Workplace Training:
The forms and procedures for workplace training are listed below in sequence:
Workplace Training Forms:
Since it is mandatory for students participating in workplace training to have Accident Insurance, the following documents must be submitted to the Department Secretariat during the workplace training application process for insurance registration:
- Workplace Training Acceptance Form (Annex 2)
- Eligible/Not Eligible certificate (can be obtained with an e-government password from www.sgk.gov.tr)
Workplace Training Process:

Application Letter (Annex 1): The application letter, filled in the relevant sections, along with Annex 2 (Acceptance Form) and the Mandatory Workplace Training Certificate, should be sent to the company/organization where the workplace training is desired to start the application process.

Workplace Training Acceptance Form (Annex 2): When the company/organization accepts the application, they fill out Annex 2, stamp, sign, and send it back to the student. The student submits this form to the Department Secretariat for review by the Workplace Training Committee. If the committee approves the company/organization, the student begins the next stage of preparing documents. If rejected, the student is notified, and they must restart the application process.

Mandatory Workplace Training Certificate: This document should be attached to the application letter. The sections related to the student must be filled out, and it must be approved by the Dean's Office through the Department Secretary.

Workplace Training Protocol: When the company/organization agrees to the workplace training, the student must have the Workplace Training Protocol (3 original signed copies) signed by the company/organization. The protocol is then submitted to the Faculty Dean for approval through the Department Secretary. One copy remains in the department, one with the student, and one with the company/organization.

Workplace Training Agreement: This agreement (3 original signed copies) must be signed by the student, then by the company/organization, and finally by the Faculty Industry Coordinator. One copy remains in the department, one with the student, and one with the company/organization.

Workplace Training Record Sheet (Annex 3.1): Once the company/organization accepts the student, and the Workplace Training Committee approves the student, the student must attach a photo to the Record Sheet (Annex 3.1), and have it approved and stamped by the Dean's Office through the Department Secretary. The student must then submit this document to the company/organization when the training starts. After the completion of the workplace training, the company/organization fills out the record sheet and sends it sealed and signed by post to the respective Department.

Workplace Training Certificate (Annex 3.2): The student should attach a photo to the certificate (Annex 3.2) and have it approved and stamped by the Dean's Office through the Department Secretary.

Notebook Submission: After completing the workplace training, the student must have the relevant sections of the notebook signed and submit it to the Department Secretariat before the presentation date. (The notebook can be written in daily or weekly report format.)
Note: The Workplace Training Period for Spring Semester 2021-2022: Workplace training should take place between the start and end dates specified in the academic calendar (21.02.2022 - 03.06.2022).

Workplace Training Evaluation Criteria
The notebook prepared for workplace training must include the following details:
NON-POINT-BASED REQUIRED ITEMS:
- Notebook Format and Content
- Cover: Prepared with the windowed cover provided by the faculty, it should be bound accordingly (Annex 1).
- Inner Cover: Should contain the Fırat University logo, the text “Fırat University, Faculty of Technology” written in large font, and the text "WORKPLACE TRAINING COURSE FILE" below it. The section visible through the transparent window of the cover must contain the department, student number, name, surname, and the month and year when the notebook was prepared (Annex 2).
- Subsequent Pages: The page signed and stamped by the Workplace Training Committee member and the company official, addressed to the Department of Forensic Informatics Engineering (Annex 3).
- Pages 1-3: The “WORKPLACE TRAINING PROTOCOL” signed and stamped by the Faculty Dean and Workplace Manager (Annex 4).
- Pages 4-5: The “WORKPLACE TRAINING PRINCIPLES AND PARTIES’ OBLIGATIONS” document, signed by the Faculty Industry Coordinator, student, and the Workplace Training Manager (Annex 5).
- Pages 6: A table summarizing the weekly activities performed by the student, including the dates and signatures of the workplace manager (Annex 6).
- Subsequent Pages: A table of contents, indicating where each heading is located in the notebook (Annex 7).
POINT-BASED SECTIONS:
- Introduction (5 points): General information should be provided in the introduction.
- Company Introduction (5 points): A description of the company where the training took place, including the company's mission, vision, organizational chart, job flow chart, employee names/titles, duties, production areas, and target audience. This section should be between 2 and 5 pages.
- Weekly Work Plan and Performed Tasks (50 points): For each week, the student must explain the tasks performed, the problems encountered, and solutions provided. Any developed program code, production, etc., should be described.
- Conclusion (5 points): Evaluation of the workplace training process.
- Writing Format (15 points): A4 paper with 3.5 cm left margin and 2.5 cm on all other sides. Page numbers should be centered at the bottom. Use Times New Roman font. Main headings in bold and uppercase, subheadings in capitalized bold, and third-level headings in italicized lowercase.
- Spelling Rules (10 points): Compliance with Turkish spelling rules.
- Audio-Visual Material Creation (10 points): The notebook should be accompanied by a CD or a web-based platform (e.g., Google Classroom) with videos, code snippets, animations, simulations, audio recordings, etc.
- Interview (60 points): The interview section of the workplace training evaluation is conducted by a jury of at least 3 members appointed by the Department Board. It includes assessments on the student’s knowledge, project involvement, and practical applications.

- A2: No, students with absenteeism in any course cannot attend workplace training.

- A3: According to Law No. 6111, companies may pay students a fee, which is exempt from taxes.
- Q4: Who is responsible for accommodation and meals during workplace training?
- A4: Accommodation and meals are the responsibility of the student.
- Q5: Will a mail group be created for 4th-year students?
- A5: Yes, a mail group will be created for 4th-year students every year.
- Q6: Can workplace training be done at public institutions?
- A6: Yes, it can be done at public institutions.
- Q7: Who will pay for the insurance during workplace training?
- A7: The university will pay for the insurance.
- Q8: When should workplace training be completed?
- A8: It should be completed within the academic semester, between the start and end dates in the academic calendar.

- A9: The workplace training is worth 20 ECTS credits.

- A10: The exams will be held during the Final and Resit weeks, on the days specified by the committee.

- A12: No, a representative can deliver the documents and follow up on the necessary signatures.
- Q13: How many copies of the documents are required?
- A13: All documents should be prepared in at least 3 copies and signed.

- A14: The documents should be signed by professionals such as Forensic Informatics Engineer, Software Engineer, Computer Engineer, or Electrical-Electronics Engineer.
